As you give this month, I will send you this recent message titled, Medicine To Your Flesh, as my thank you for supporting this ministry. I strongly encourage you to get a fresh revelation of the power of the Word today. Click here to give>

Today I want to share with you my personal story of healing and restoration. I have only shared this with family, friends, and a few ministers associated with my ministerial alliance.

I wrote previously about my miraculous recovery from open heart surgery last year. Doctors had discovered the two main arteries were blocked in my heart and it was determined that I needed to have open heart surgery. The surgery was successful and in the words of the physician, my “Recovery was magical.”

At that time, they also found plaque build-up that they wanted to remove at a later time.

A few months ago, on September 27, I went into the hospital again for this routine surgery to remove the plaque in my carotid artery which was blocking blood flow to my brain.

I was told I would only be in the hospital one or two days. So, I checked in on September 27, thinking I would be out in one or two days and everything would be fine.

However, everything wasn’t fine.

During the surgery, I experienced a stroke. I lost the use of my right arm and suffered memory loss. Carolyn, my daughters Jerriann and Terri, and others stood by my side and watched as I struggled to become normal again.

For instance, the Doctor asked me what was the President’s name and the girls told me that I answered, “ Barack Obama”, but when I was asked my daughter’s names, I said, “Terri Obama and Jerri Obama.”

It was very frustrating for me to not remember Scriptures or the names of everyday objects.

Brother Copeland came to visit me and I remember him being there but I don’t remember much of what he said. Jesse and Cathy Duplantis came and by time they arrived I had begun to get a little better.

As I was in the hospital room, I decided that I wasn’t going to allow my body or mind tell me what I could and couldn’t do!

I remember hearing someone say that there was a possibility that I could go home soon if I improved. I was determined to do whatever it was that would indicate that I was ready to go.

A few days later I was released to go home but still had limited mobility in my right arm and still had memory loss.

One day I stood in my garage looking at one of my motorcycles but couldn’t remember how to start it. So I stood there studying that bike until I was able to start it. Then I went to every car and motorcycle I have and started them before I left that garage!

I continued to improve and a few days later I was driving again.

Every day I spent time reading the Word and listening to Oral Roberts, T. L. Osborn, Kenneth Hagin, or Kenneth Copeland teaching series.

Then I remembered the first message I ever preached at a Kenneth Copeland meeting.

It was a message from Matthew, chapter eight, where a centurion soldier came to Jesus saying, “My servant lies at home paralyzed, suffering terribly.” When Jesus offered to go to his home to heal his servant, the soldier said he didn’t deserve to have Jesus in his home.

The centurion then replied, “But just say the word, and my servant will be healed (Matthew 8:5-8, emphasis mine).

The Word of God has the power to heal! I am fully healed, even to the amazement of my doctors. I’m a walking, talking miracle! And it’s all because of the Word of God!

I’ve preached it now for almost 48 years, but I have a new appreciation for it today – it has literally extended my life. Solomon was right when he said that the Word is “Life unto those that find them and health to all their flesh” (Proverbs 4:23). The Literal Hebrew says, “Medicine to their flesh.”

The dictionary defines medicine as 1) Something that treats, prevents or alleviates the symptoms of disease and 2) A healing substance.

The more Word you put into your spirit, the greater the effect it’ll have on your flesh!

You need to understand that your body was made by the Word of God and it’s designed even to this day to respond to it. We are told in John 1:1-3, “In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God…All things were made by him, and without him was not anything made that was made.”

The New Living Translation says, “The Word gave life to everything.”

If the Word gave life to everything, then doesn’t it stand to reason that everything is designed by God to still respond to the Word? Your body is designed by God to respond to His Word just like it responds to medicine.

If the Doctor prescribes a certain medicine for you, if you follow the instructions, your body will respond.

The most common way for taking medicine is by mouth and similarly, God’s Word must get in your mouth if it’s to have an effect on the rest of your body.

No wonder Satan hopes you will never get in the Word and the Word never gets in you.

I strongly encourage you to get a fresh revelation of the power of the Word today. After a few months of recovery, I recently preached my first public message where I went into detail about my healing and how I stood on the Word of God. I want you to get this message!

Refuse to accept sickness and disease. Discover the power of God’s Word to bring healing and heath in your body!

As you contact us this month, I want to know how we can pray for you! I want to join my faith with yours for your miracle!

Jesus said in John 6:63, “The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life.”

Thank you for allowing me to speak God’s Word to you and bring life into your circumstances and healing to your body. And thank you for helping me reach more people with the life-giving message of Jesus!

In Him,

Jerry Savelle

P.S. Let me remind you of the hope you have through Jesus. Romans 15:13 says, “I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in Him…” This means that even in hopeless situations, you can be full of hope because you trust in a God who loves performing the impossible. Stay in hope, stay in faith, your breakthrough is on the way!
