Looking Through The Eye Of Faith

The Believer Is Not to Be Moved by What He Sees

2 Corinthians 4:1-18

Paul implies that the believer doesn’t look at the things which are seen.

Many Christians are fainting because they are looking at the wrong things.

Many Christians have allowed Satan to put a veil over their eyes because they read  the Word religiously.

Many Christians have been programmed to believe that the things which can be seen are more real than the Creator of them.

Things Which Can Be Seen Are Temporal

Temporal: lasting only for a time, not permanent, of this world, worldly.

Colossians 3:2 – “Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.”

Everything that can be seen with the physical eye is temporary; it is subject to change.

The amount of time it takes for the change depends on what you do with the Word.

The Unseen Things Are Eternal

The Holy Spirit

You can’t see Him, but He is eternal.

John 14:16-17 – “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom  the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye  know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.”

The power of God

You can’t see it, but you can see the result.

The spoken Word

Isaiah 40:8 – “The grass witherth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.”

Isaiah 55:11 – “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”

Matthew 24:35 – “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.”

Psalm 119:89 – “For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven.”

1 Peter 1:23-25 – “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God…For all flesh is as grass… The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: But the word of the Lord endureth forever…”

The Believer Is Not Governed By What He Sees

2 Corinthians 5:7 – “For we walk by faith, not by sight.”

Faith is our method of seeing the unseen.”

Hebrews 11:1 (AMP)

Faith is the proof of things we do not see and the conviction of their reality.

Hebrews 11:13 – “These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off… confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.”

Faith causes you to see the things that have not been revealed to the senses.

Examples from the Word

2 Kings 4:1-7

John 2:1-11

Luke 9:12-17

What Causes Faith to See the Unseen

Romans 10:17 – “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

Faith is produced by the Word.

The Word will create a third eye – THE EYE OF FAITH.

In order to begin to look through the eye of faith, the physical eye must become single on the Word.

Matthew 6:22-23 – “The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole     body shall be full of darkness.”

Proverbs 4:21 – “Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.”

Psalm 25:15 – “Mine eyes are ever toward the Lord…”

THE WORD LIGHTS THE PATH OF THE UNSEEN: IT IS THE ILLUMINATING LIGHT THAT MAKES PLAIN THE NEW OF THE UNSEEN.

Psalm 119:105 – “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”

Psalm 119:130 – “The entrance of thy words giveth light…”

Keeping the Word before your eyes will create the image of that Word within you. You begin to see it. It becomes more real to you than even the things which you can see with your physical eye.

Words Paint Images

The world began as an image on the inside of God.

God’s Word is designed to paint the image of the unseen in you.

Your faith will work only on the level of the image of God’s Word that is within you.

The Holy Spirit is the image-painter.

Allow the Word to paint the image, and then give the image an opportunity to come into perfection.
