As my thank you for your giving this month, I will send you a powerful, faith-filled message that I taught entitled, God Is Faithful, How About You. Click here to give>
Have you ever known someone that couldn’t be trusted? The type of person that commits to help you but doesn’t come through when you need them?
Sadly, you and I both have known people like that!
I have also known people whose word was their bond. When they said something, you could trust them to keep their word.
Growing up my dad taught me and showed me what it meant to live with integrity and be a man of your word.
Even before I surrendered to the Lord, I always kept my word! Before ministry, when I was a paint and body man working on cars, I would keep my word for a job even if I estimated the cost wrong.
Today, I want to share with you one of the first revelations I received about who God is and about His character. Forty-eight years ago this truth set my life on a course that has been a wonderful adventure in faith!
As a new believer I discovered that God can be trusted because God is faithful!
Declaring this character trait of God, Deuteronomy 7:9 says, “Therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments.”
Without the faithfulness of God, you couldn’t have confidence in anything. That’s why you get a constant reminder throughout Scripture. Psalm 119:90 says, “Thy faithfulness is unto all generations.” Lamentations 3:23 celebrates, “…great is thy faithfulness.” 1 Corinthians 1:9 declares, “God is faithful!”
One of the great attributes of God, is that He is faithful! 1 Kings 8:56 boldly declares, “…there hath not failed one word of all his good promises which he promised…”
How many people do you know that have the reputation and the testimony of not one promise they’ve made has failed to come to pass?
That’s the God you serve!
If this ever truly becomes a revelation to you, then your struggle in trusting Him will become a thing of the past. Not only that, but giving in, giving up, and quitting will become a thing of the past as well.
The Book of Isaiah says (in the Message translation), “The words that come out of my mouth will not come back empty handed: They’ll do the work I sent them to do, they’ll complete the assignment I gave them.”
Every word that God speaks has an assignment on it! Every promise God has spoken to you has the power to come to pass!
When you dare to believe His promises, they have the assignment to be fulfilled in your life – no matter how impossible your situation may seem.
Paul takes this truth a step further in 2 Timothy 2:13 (AMP) and says, “If we are faithless, he remains faithful, true to his word.” You see, real Bible faith is simply possessing a deep conviction of the reality that it’s impossible for God to lie and that He’s forever faithful to His Word! If we refuse to believe, then He’ll find someone who will and bring it to pass in their life.
Real Bible faith makes no provision for failure. It’s willing to stand on what God has promised no matter how long it takes.
The question is, “Are you willing to stand until what He has promised comes to pass in your life?”
Romans 4:17-21 tells the inspiring story of Abraham saying, “…he (Abraham) staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strong in faith, giving glory to God. And being fully persuaded that what He had promised, He was able also to perform.”
Abraham refused to quit! He refused to give up! He refused to waver and he refused to compromise!
As a result of Abraham’s confidence in the faithfulness of God, the Message translation says he “got everything that had been promised him.”
If you’re going to walk in the promises of God, you’re going to have to learn to stick it out! Anybody can quit! Quitting is easy! But it takes determination and a quality decision on your part to receive everything that God has promised you!
Let this be your declaration today – QUITTING IS NO LONGER AN OPTION IN MY LIFE!
Maybe you’re thinking, “But Brother Jerry, it’s so hard to keep standing when it looks as though nothing is happening.”
Well then, you just need to get yourself back in the Word of God! Romans 10:17 promises, “So then faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.”
More Word, more faith!
Paul said in 2 Timothy 4:7, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” The New Living Translation says, “I have remained faithful!”
Faithful means to be constant, consistent, never changing nor giving up regardless of the circumstances. Faithful people don’t turn back! Faithful people don’t let go of the promises of God!
Faithful people hold fast the profession of (their) faith without wavering (Hebrews 10:23). No matter how impossible it seems, they believe like the Apostle Paul said, “I know that this shall turn” (Philippians 1:19).
The Holy Spirit said these prophetic words to me on November 2, 2016: “2017 will be a year in which the faithful shall flourish and it shall be like days of heaven on Earth!”
If you’re one of the faithful ones, then get ready!!! Your harvest is on the way! Stay expectant and keep your faith strong!
I’m so thankful for the faithful partners and friends of this ministry that enables us to proclaim the good news of Jesus all over the world.
