Have you ever been in this position where you've done everything God asked…sowed the seed, stood in faith, confessed the Word, and yet you’re still asking, “Where’s my harvest?”
If that’s where you are today, let me encourage you: you are not forgotten, and your harvest is not lost.
I know what it’s like to trust God when the numbers don’t add up. I know what it’s like to stand in faith when you’re up against the impossible; my late husband, Jerry, and I lived that way for 55 years in ministry together. And I can tell you with full confidence that God never forgets a seed sown, and that harvest always comes right on time.
Time after time, when the need was great and the resources seemed small, God proved Himself faithful. We learned that His system of seedtime and harvest works, not just for a few people, but for anyone who will believe it and live by it.
And today, I want to stir up your faith to get aggressive about reaping, because sowing is only half the process. You were not only created to sow…you were created to reap.
Your Harvest Is Crying Out for You
James 5:4 says the wages that were held back “cry out” to the Lord of Hosts. That verse lit a fire in my spirit. Years ago, the Lord said to Jerry and I, “You have been aggressive sowers, but you haven’t been aggressive harvesters.”
That might be true for you too.
So many believers are faithful givers. They tithe. They bless others. They sow into ministries like this one. But when it comes to reaping the harvest, they’ve become passive or discouraged. Maybe delay wore them down. Maybe disappointment crept in, or they started thinking it just works for someone else.
But let me encourage you today, that’s not the truth.
The truth is that your harvest is still growing. It’s still working, it’s still crying out, and it’s time you start crying out for it too.
You Were Created to Reap
From the very beginning, God designed life to flow through seed. Genesis 1:29 says He gave man “seed”, and that seed is meant to be planted, not consumed.
And Galatians 6:7 couldn’t be clearer by saying, “Whatever a man sows, that shall he also reap.” In fact, the Phillips translation says, “A man’s harvest in life depends entirely on what he sows.”
That’s a spiritual law. But like any law, it requires cooperation. Harvest doesn’t come automatically. You’ve got to put in the sickle.
Mark 4:29 says that when the harvest comes, the man “puts in the sickle.” The sickle, for you and me, is our words. Hebrews 4:12 tells us that God’s Word is sharper than any two-edged sword. Isaiah 49:2 says He’s made our mouths like a sharp sword.
Your sickle is in your mouth.
When you speak the Word over your seed and cry out in faith, you are harvesting.
"I Never Forget a Seed Sown."
I’ll never forget a story Jerry shared; it’s one that demonstrates God’s provision and faithfulness.
A young mother had driven with her children all the way from Boston to Georgia to attend one of our meetings. Their car broke down repeatedly, they had no money and had been sleeping on the side of the road. But one of her daughters kept saying, “Let’s pray God sends Brother Jerry.”
And wouldn’t you know it; Jerry just happened to walk by their parked car outside the hotel.
We were able to fix their car, feed their family, get them a hotel room, and bless them richly. Not long after that, Jerry received a phone call from someone who wanted to bless him with a brand-new Corvette. He hadn’t asked for it and he hadn’t prayed for it.
But as he was driving it home, the Lord said, “This is because I never forget a seed sown.”
We’ve seen this repeatedly; supernatural provision, right on time, in the most unexpected ways.
Friend, God is not late, and He has never forgotten the seed you’ve sown.
