Everywhere you turn today, the headlines scream of turmoil, confusion, and fear. It seems as though the very foundations of our culture are shaking.
But I have a word of encouragement for you: in the midst of this chaos, God is still speaking, and He is still leading His people into victory.
What the world calls “uncertain” is no surprise to Him, and what looks impossible in the natural is an opportunity for the Holy Spirit to bring you through.
What I want to share with you in this letter is the key to living strong, steady, and unshaken in times when the rest of the world feels overwhelmed.
The Apostle Paul warned us that “in the last days perilous times shall come” (2 Timothy 3:1). Friend, those times are not just coming—they are here. But I have good news: God has not left you powerless or alone. In fact, He has equipped you with everything you need not only to endure but to overcome.
God Is Talking—Are You Listening?
In Revelation chapters 2 and 3, Jesus repeated seven times, “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”
When God says something once, it matters. When He says it seven times in two chapters, you should really pay attention. He is emphasizing that in every season—especially in perilous times—the key to victory is not just having ears, but hearing with a heart that is willing to respond and obey.
Think about it: Jesus, the Son of God Himself, stood on the hillsides of Galilee teaching the very words of life. Thousands listened, yet many didn’t truly hear. He had to stop in the middle of His message and say, “He that hath an ear, let him hear.”
If people could miss His voice in the flesh, how much more must we guard against missing His voice by His Spirit today?
Here’s the truth: God has never stopped speaking. He is not silent about your life, your family, or your future. The Spirit of God is constantly speaking, guiding, and instructing. But in a noisy world filled with competing voices, it’s up to you to give Him your full attention.
Not by Might, Not by Power
Zechariah 4:6 says it plainly: “Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.” In other words, you will not overcome today’s challenges with human intellect, political systems, or natural strength. Education has its place, and money has its uses, but neither can defeat the strategies of the enemy.
Only the Holy Spirit working through you gives you the power to overcome.
I love how Jerry used to say, “The Holy Spirit in you will get you through.” That’s the key to thriving in the last days. It means you don’t face stress alone, you don’t battle fear alone, and you don’t fight temptation alone. The Greater One lives in you, and greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.
Sometimes we get so used to hearing sermons, reading books, and attending conferences that we forget the basics. But Paul told Timothy that the way to overcome perilous times is not to chase after new revelations, but to continue in the things you have already learned.
What are those basics?
- Praying in the Spirit before making major decisions.
- Speaking God’s Word over your life instead of careless words that give the enemy access.
- Obeying quickly when the Lord prompts you.
- Keeping your heart tender to His correction instead of resisting it.
These are not optional choices—they are survival skills for the last days.
When was the last time you paused before buying that house, making that investment, or sending that email, and prayed in the Holy Spirit first? When was the last time you asked the Spirit of God for wisdom before reacting to a stressful situation? Friend, that’s the kind of listening ear Jesus was talking about in Revelation.
The Advantage of Hearing God
Why is it so critical to hear God in this hour? Because hearing God puts you in a position of advantage. The world is shaking, economies are unstable, and culture is confused. But those who hear God will know where to go, what to say, and how to respond.
When others are panicking, you will have peace. When others are losing, you will be advancing. When others are deceived, you will be walking in truth.
Isaiah 40 says the rough places will be made plain and the crooked places made straight. How? By the Spirit of God. That means even if your family, finances, or health feel like they are in a rough place today, the Spirit of God has the power to smooth it out and bring you through.
Why This Matters Now
We are not just living through cultural challenges—we are witnessing prophetic times. Jesus told us there would be wars and rumors of wars, nations rising against nations, and hearts failing from fear. Yet He also told us, “See that you be not troubled” (Matthew 24:6).
That’s why I’m writing to you. You don’t have to be troubled. You don’t have to be shaken. You don’t have to burn out under stress or collapse under pressure.
You have the Spirit of God inside you, and He is more than enough.
Jerry and I faced many battles over the years. We’ve seen financial pressure, ministry opposition, and personal challenges. But time and time again, the Spirit of God has reminded us: it’s not by might, it’s not by power, but by His Spirit. That truth has sustained me daily since Jerry’s passing, and it will sustain you.
Let me encourage you personally. Whatever battle you are facing today—whether it’s a family crisis, a financial burden, or the heaviness of this culture pressing against you—know this: God has not forgotten you. He is speaking to you even now. He is reminding you that you are not powerless.
Perilous times are real, but so is the power of God. Stress is real, but so is the peace of God. Temptation is real, but so is the grace of God. And His grace is greater.
Lift your head. Tune your ear. Guard your words. Go back to the basics. The Holy Spirit in you will get you through.
Standing Together
As a partner in this ministry, you are not walking this path alone. You are connected to a family of faith around the world that is learning—just like you—how to hear God, obey His voice, and walk in victory.
Every time you sow into this ministry, you help us continue preaching this uncompromising Word so more believers can learn how to overcome in perilous times. Because of you, the light is shining bright, pushing back the darkness.
Now is the time to rise up in faith and position yourself to hear God clearly, walk in His Spirit, and overcome every strategy of the enemy. One of the most powerful ways you can do that is by sowing into the Word that is equipping you.
When you give, you are not only strengthening this ministry to reach more people in these perilous times, but you are also planting seeds for your own harvest of victory.
You can sow securely online at jerrysavelle.org, and as our thank-you for your gift this month, we will immediately send you a powerful teaching from Jerry titled The Holy Spirit In You Will Get You Through.
You can also give by calling 866-576-4872 (toll-free), or by texting “NOVEMBER2025” to 50155. If you prefer, simply use the enclosed reply form and postage-paid envelope to send your gift.
As you sow, expect God to honor His Word, multiply your seed, and guide you by His Spirit.
The days ahead may not get easier for the world, but for the people of God, they can grow brighter. Why? Because “the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, that shines brighter and brighter unto the perfect day” (Proverbs 4:18).
So let me leave you with this: don’t let the noise of the culture drown out the voice of the Spirit. He who has an ear, let him hear. Keep your heart tender, your words aligned with Scripture, and your decisions guided by the Spirit of God.
Do that, and you will not only survive these perilous times—you will shine as a testimony of God’s goodness and power.
I love you dearly. I thank God for you. All of us here at JSMI are standing with you in faith, believing that your best days are not behind you—they are just ahead.
In His love and mine,
Carolyn Savelle
P.S. I want you to know I’m praying for you. I’m declaring over your life that you will not be shaken by the brokenness of this culture. You will rise above it by the Spirit of God. You will be an example to your family and community of what it looks like to walk in peace, victory, and abundance—even when the world is falling apart.
