This month as you sow a faith-seed into this ministry, I want to give you a powerful message that I recently shared with my church titled, The Path to a Lifestyle of Flourishing. Click here to give>
When I was a new believer, I remember one of my friends, shortly after hearing that I had given my life to Christ, saying to me, “So I guess you’re done having fun now!”
Nothing could be further from the truth!
Living for Jesus has been the most exciting, fun adventure ever. In fact, God has blessed me time and time again far beyond anything I could have even imagined.
The best plans I could dream of before Christ don’t even compare to the amazing path God has lead me down. And the same can be true for your life.
God’s path for you is exceedingly far better than anything that the world could ever offer.
Today, I want to encourage you to get on the path of God for your life. If you do, you’ll live the most blessed, fulfilling life possible. That’s not to say you won’t encounter trials. You will! But Jesus has already overcame them all (John 16:33)!
The psalmist prayed, “Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths.” (Psalm 25:4) Make that your prayer today!
What does that path look like?
Many people mistakenly think, like my friend, that following Jesus means the end of fun. As if God’s path is boring and the end of excitement.
We get a glimpse of what God’s path is like in Psalm 65:11 where it says, “You crown the year with Your goodness, and Your paths drip with abundance.” The NIV Bible translation says, “Overflow with abundance.”
There are two distinct paths that you can take in life. The world has a path and God has a path.
The world’s path leads to destruction – it’s self-centered. And God’s path leads to life – real life!
Jesus declared in John 10:10, “I am come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly.” I love the way the Amplified Bible says, “I came that they may have and enjoy life and have it in abundance, to the full, till it overflows.”
God’s path leads not only to eternal life but also to a life of abundance. And, as the Amplified Bible said, it’s a life that we are to “enjoy” while we’re here in the earth.
So how do you follow God’s path for your life?
It begins by making Jesus the Lord of your life. Simply surrender every area of your life to Him and His will. Your attitude must be, “Not my will, but Your will be done.”
Then you must allow His Word to become first place and final authority in your life! Psalm 119:105 says, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
In other words, His Word is what you look to for guidance in your life. What you see in His Word is what you do. It’s what James calls, “Being a doer of the Word.” (James 1:22)
James goes on to say in Verse 25, “…they will be blessed in what they do.” And “blessed” means EMPOWERED TO PROSPER, TO INCREASE, AND TO FLOURISH!
So we could say: “God has a path to a flourishing lifestyle!”
I’ll say it again, the world’s path leads to destruction. But God’s path leads to life – real life, abundant life!
Proverbs 1:10-15 warns, “My son, if sinful men entice you, do not give in to them. …Do not go along with them, do not set foot on their paths.”
In other words, don’t let the world determine your path – stick with the Word!
You can’t expect God’s blessing when you do things the world’s way.
When you become a doer of the Word, you’re going to have to be selective about your friends. Psalm 1:1-3 – “Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked…”. By doing this, the psalmist goes on to say that “whatever you do will prosper”.
If you’re going to walk the path God has for you, you’ll need to align yourself with others walking that path as well.
Hebrews 6:12 instructs you to, “Imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.”
Years ago the Lord gave me a message titled The Law of Increase by Association. Proverbs 13:20 says, “He that walks with wise men shall be wise…”
Find people that are walking in the blessing and the favor of the Lord and follow them!
That’s one of the reasons I love writing to you and sharing the principles with you that have changed my life.
I want you to experience the same abundant life that I am walking in. I pray that your association with me and this ministry will lead you into God’s path and that you will enjoy all the benefits of doing this. And something that you should understand also is that you are blessed to be a blessing.
This abundant, flourishing life is not just for your own benefit.
Always look for opportunities to sow into the lives of others. That’s a sure way to stay on the path to flourishing!
Proverbs 3:9-10 declares that you are to, “Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.” Honoring Him with your substance keeps you on the path to flourishing.
My wife, Carolyn, and I have “sown our way into flourishing” over the last 48 years. Proverbs 11:24-25 says, “One person gives freely and gains even more.” We’ve experienced that time and time again in our lives, and, we have no intention of stopping now.
The path to a flourishing lifestyle requires sowing. No devil, no government, nor anyone else, can stop you from flourishing if you’re a sower.
This month as you sow a faith-seed into this ministry, I want to give you a powerful message that I recently shared with my church titled, The Path to a Lifestyle of Flourishing.
In this teaching resource, I go more in-depth into the keys required to get on and continue to walk out God’s path to an abundant life.
When you give, you’re part of every outreach, every life-change, and every salvation that occurs through this ministry.
Because of your generosity, pastors in Africa receive vital training, over 50,000 souls were saved last year alone through our motorcycle outreach, and countless people are being encouraged through our many resources.
Thank you for helping us spread the good news and the love of Jesus!
I pray that your association with this ministry helps you walk out the path of blessing that God desires for you. I’m praying for you and believing for God’s best in your life.
In Him,
Jerry Savelle
