I recently preached this prophetic word for the first time and want you to hear it. That’s why I’ve instructed my team to send this audio teaching, In Troubled Times, Stick to the Word of God, as my thank you for your gift this month. Click here now ⟩
What causes some people to crumple under the pressures of life while others thrive? What is the number one factor of someone who outlasts hardships and comes out victorious?
A life full of God’s favor and blessing is NOT a life free from trouble and opposition. I’ve been teaching the message of faith for over 50 years, and I’ve seen more challenges than many people.
While I’ve faced seemingly impossible situations, I’ve also discovered what it takes to overcome them and experience the victory that comes from trusting God’s Word.
You can’t avoid troubled times, but you can learn to respond in faith and see God bring deliverance and provision.
The apostle Paul warns the young pastor, Timothy, saying, “But understand this, that in the last days will come (set in) perilous times of great stress and trouble hard to deal with and hard to bear…”
Hardships and challenges will come. So, what will you do when you face them? Paul goes on to tell us, “…But as for you, continue to hold to the things that you have learned (the Word) ...” (2 Timothy 3:1,14 Amplified).
In troubled times, stick to the Word of God!
Paul is telling Timothy that no matter what is going on in the world, he must continue to completely rely upon the most reliable, the most secure, the most unchanging thing in the world, and that is the Word of God.
The Prophet Isaiah said it like this, “The grass withers the flower fades, but the word of our God shall stand forever” (Isaiah 40:8).
What is God’s Word? Why can it be trusted? 1 Peter 1:25 describes the word of the Lord as “Divine instruction” and says it “Endures forever” (Amplified Bible).
As you navigate through this year, you need divine instruction from God. His Word will lead you and guide you to a place of peace and victory. That’s what the Psalmist declared when he said, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path” (Psalm 119:105).
God’s Word is your greatest defense in troubled times!
That’s why Jesus instructs you to allow the word to “abide in you” (John 15:7). This means that you’re to allow it to remain in you, deeply rooted, no matter what circumstances may arise.
Never let go of the Word. Once again, it is your greatest defense against adversity. Never move away from the truths that you have learned, even if everyone else does. Refuse to give up on the Word just because others have. You must dare to be different!
Following Christ requires a disciplined, no-quit attitude. Even when the days become darker and increasingly more evil, hold fast to the Word.
We’re living in a time when everything of this world’s system is being shaken, but you don’t have to be shaken. That is, if the Word of God is still first place in your life.
With the Word deeply rooted in your heart, you can say as the Psalmist said, “Surely I shall not be afraid of evil tidings, my heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord. My heart is established, I shall not be afraid until I see my desire upon my enemies” (Psalm 112:7-8 personalized).
And how can you get this way? Psalm 112:1 reveals you must, “Delight greatly in his commandments”, God’s Word. Is this the way you feel about the Word of God? It should be. Your attitude should be, “I can’t get enough of it.”
Now, I’ve said all of this to tell you something the Holy Spirit said to me recently regarding 2022. He has already said that it would be a year in which we would experience the open hand of God and that unusual, extraordinary, and supernatural provision would be the result of it.
And now, He’s telling me that, “It will be a year of more light, more insight, and more revelation which will produce greater freedom and greater victories.”
These victories will be the result of sticking to the Word of God even in times of trouble. Psalm 19:10-11 tells us that the person who receives, holds fast to, and considers the Word as priceless in their life will be, “Illuminated and instructed; and in keeping them there is great reward” (Amplified Bible).
Do you want to be illuminated and instructed? How would you like to have more REVELATION LIGHT? Psalm 119:130 says, “The entrance of thy words giveth light…” The Passion translation says, “Break open Your Word within me until revelation – light shines out!” This is what God intends to do for those who will continue to put His Word first place in their lives.
Satan would love to steal the Word from your heart. He knows that if the Word of God takes root in your life, there’s nothing he can do to defeat you.
Are you guarding your heart to protect the Word that’s been planted? The Bible teaches two ways to guard your heart: be selective about what you give attention to with your eyes and ears.
What can stifle and constrain the Word of God in your life? I taught a message just a few weeks ago that you need to hear. I lay out verse by verse the tactics used by Satan to steal the Word from your heart.
As you give this month, my team will send you this powerful, timely teaching titled, In Troubled Times, Stick to the Word of God. Learn the biblical principles needed to build your life on the rock of God’s Word.

As you tithe and give generously, you activate blessings from heaven. Malachi 3:10 says that God responds to your giving by opening the windows of Heaven and pouring out more blessings than you can even store.
Thank you for your faithfulness to God. Thank you for believing in this ministry. And thank you for sticking with the Word even in times of trouble. You’re a rare breed, and I’m praying for God’s open hand of blessing and provision in your life.
In Him,
Jerry Savelle
P.S. Hold tightly to the Word you have received. Paul would tell you the same thing he told Timothy, “You must remain faithful to the things you have been taught…” (2 Timothy 3:14). If you guard your heart to protect the Word that’s planted, God is faithful to bring His Word to pass and there’s nothing Satan can do to stop it. I’m praying for you and hope to hear from you soon.
