And from the days of John the Baptist until the present time, the kingdom of heaven has endured violent assault, and violent men seize it by force [as a precious prize—a share in the heavenly kingdom is sought with most ardent zeal and intense exertion]. Matthew 11:12 AMPC
Has God put a strong desire in your heart for something specific, yet it seems too big to grab hold of? My advice to you is this: seize your God-given opportunity!
Webster’s dictionary defines seize as to take possession of suddenly and by force, or attack, or a strike. Why is it important to take possession of something suddenly? Because opportunities don’t wait for the faint hearted, the slow-to-move, or the coward.
When an opportunity arises that seems just a little out of your grasp, go to God in prayer. If you have peace about it, then go for it—God will help you. Jesus described just such a kingdom opportunity like this: “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field” (Matthew 13:44 NKJV).
When God presents you with an opportunity, be aggressive. Be enthusiastic and committed. Continue to seek God for His wisdom and favor in how to proceed. And as you continue to make your confession of faith, God will meet you with His grace and favor.
Confession: I give thanks for the God-given dreams and desires He has placed in my heart. As each new opportunity presents itself, I will go to God in prayer to receive His peace and provision, and then I will seize each opportunity quickly, and for the glory of God.
